Beschreibung: If a picture says a thousand words, then by the end of this three-hour adventure you’ll have plenty to say. With a professional photographer as a guide, you can capture the stunning wonders and panoramic vistas that surround Skagway, while picking up valuable tips and techniques to get that perfect shot. Nature is the premier attraction!

In order to receive personal one-on-one instruction, this is a small-group tour. Be sure to bring all of your cameras and gear; even a small „point and click“ camera or phone can capture the majesty of Mother Nature. Since the day’s weather can be unpredictable, bring along your raingear and wear comfortable walking shoes.

First, you’ll begin your day getting acquainted with your small group of fellow photo buffs and meeting your professional photographer/guide who, depending on the day’s conditions, will select a number of his favorite locations. Some locations lend themselves to longer or short stops. But the excursion is not set to a rigid schedule – the focus is getting the most out of your camera.

One site you may visit is the White Pass summit, a wonderland of azure lakes and stunted forests. During your visit your photographer will suggest shots, and discuss issues such as composition, exposure, and depth of field.

Or the day may lend itself to the scenic coastline towards the former gold rush town of Dyea where bald eagles are often sighted along the Taiya River. During the Gold Rush, prospectors arrived here to access the 26-mile Chilkoot Trail that led to the gold fields. Wherever your photographer/guide leads you, you’re sure to be inspired.

Finally, at the end of this exciting photo tour, you’ll return to the pier, your heart and camera filled with wild and wonderful memories of breathtaking beauty.

Die photography tour war naja. Die Beschreibung kann man halt auslegen wie man möchte. Von skagway habe ich jedenfalls viel erfahren aber nichts gesehen. Dafür drum herum die Landschaft mit den Bergen, Gletschern und Wasserfällen gesehen. Wir waren auch kurz über der Grenze zu Kanada. Was ich allerdings feststellen muss bei den ganzen Touren, Amerikaner fahren jede kleine Strecke und genau so sind die Touren aufgebaut. Hier heißt eine fototour, dass man mit dem Auto zu Spot 1 fährt und dann wieder mit dem Auto zum nächsten Spot. Irgendwie schräg. Das heißt aber auch das eine Tour die mit m = moderat beschrieben ist, für mich unter easy läuft.

Noch einmal zu der photography tour zurück. Unser tourleiter war Thomas. Er ist vor recht vielen Jahren in die Staaten ausgewandert. Spricht noch recht gut deutsch und hat während des Kurses mir bei Unklarheiten geholfen in dem er es auf deutsch erklärte. Fand ich ziemlich cool.

Er erzählte noch das nur am Donnerstag nach skagway frische Ware geliefert wird, skagway ist der letzte Ort. Sprich die „frische“ Ware ist seit 5 Tagen unterwegs, also überhaupt nicht mehr frisch. Um sich gegenseitig zu helfen, haben sie wohl eine Facebookseite wo man mitteilt wenn man in eine große Stadt fährt und bringt dann anderen Kleinigkeiten welche beauftragt wurden mit.
